Soy Emilia

Native Spanish speaker, psychologist, and the teacher behind Andamio Club.

— E.

I trained as a psychologist and spent years working in schools, as a school psychologist watching how children learn, how they play, and how they grow together. I've also spent years teaching in classrooms, privately, and online.

"Spanish is best learned in company."

I've come to believe this. Children need to speak with peers their own age, and with adults too, because language grows through real conversation: messy, alive, and full of small mistakes. Grammar and vocabulary matter, but they only come to life when a child uses them with someone else.

Andamio Club is what I've been imagining for a long time: a small space where children feel safe to try, activities meet each age, and learning is fun.

THE STORY
How Andamio Club began

Andamio Club began during the pandemic. I was teaching at a school where classes had to split in two (half in person, half online, rotating each week), and I was always in charge of the online group.

I expected it to feel like the lesser half. It wasn't. I watched children who couldn't share a classroom find each other on the screen: laughing, correcting each other, becoming a small group of their own. That's when I understood: online wasn't a substitute for something else. It could be a place of its own.

WHAT SHAPES EVERY CLASS
Four principles
Every child is seen.

In a class of 3 to 8 children, no one hides at the back, no one gets lost, and no one is pushed. Every voice matters, every silence gets attended to.

A safe space to try.

Children learn Spanish faster when they feel safe to try, safe to fail, and safe to be themselves. Every class begins from a place of care and patience.

Time and adapted pace.

Language learning takes time, and every child grows at their own rhythm. Classes are designed for the age and level of each group: playful, engaging, and never rushed.

Growth, not exams.

Learning here isn't measured by tests. It's noticed, class by class, in how each child speaks, plays, and grows more confident.
